Snickerdoodles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, unbeaten
    2 3/4 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Mix together thoroughly the first 3 ingredients.
    Sift the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt together and stir into first mixture. Chill dough. Roll into small balls.
    Roll balls in a mixture of the sugar and cinnamon.
    Place about 2-inches apart on ungreased pan. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400\u00b0 until lightly browned, but still soft.
    These puff up at first and then flatten out with crinkled tops.
    Makes about 5 dozen 2-inch cookies.
