Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. milk, scalded
    4 eggs, beaten slightly
    1/2 c. sugar
    pinch of salt (optional)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    nutmeg
Preparation
    Mix sugar and eggs; add scalded milk, salt and vanilla.
    Pour into buttered casserole.
    Sprinkle nutmeg on top.
    Set casserole in pan of water (about 1-inch deep).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until silver knife inserted comes out clean.
