Cherry Oatmeal - cooking recipe

1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. old fashioned oats
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter or margarine
whipped cream or ice cream (optional)
Preparation

Spread pie filling in a greased 9-inch square baking pan. In a bowl, combine next 6 ingredients. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over filling. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
