Wine Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 to 5 slices bacon, cut into 1-inch slices
1 small chopped onion
2 lb. beef, cut into 1-inch pieces, floured
1 can consomme soup
3/4 c. sherry or wine
1 sliced onion
3 sliced carrots
Preparation

Brown bacon with chopped onion in pan, then place in casserole dish. Cut beef, then brown in bacon fat. Add beef to casserole. Put soup and sherry in pan.
Slice onion and carrots into liquid and bring to a boil.
Pour over meat in casserole and place in oven at 300\u00b0 for 3 hours.
Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans.
