7-Layer Casserole(Serves 4 To 6) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. uncooked rice
1 c. canned whole kernel corn, undrained or equivalent frozen (sprinkle with pepper)
1 can tomato sauce and 1/2 can water
1/2 c. finely chopped onions
1/2 c. green pepper
3/4 lb. uncooked beef or ground turkey (sprinkle with pepper)
1 can tomato sauce and 1/4 can water
4 strips bacon, cut in half
2 onions, finely chopped, or use equivalent dried onions
1 lb. hamburger or ground turkey
1 can tomato sauce
1 can whole kernel corn or equivalent frozen corn
1 can pitted olives, drained
1 c. milk (I use nonfat)
1/2 c. yellow corn meal
1 to 3 tsp. Grandma's chili seasoning
grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Spray bottom of frying pan with Pam.
Cook onions until soft but not brown.
Add hamburger or ground turkey.
Saute until brown or well-cooked.
Add tomato sauce, corn and olives.
Simmer 5 to 10 minutes.
Add milk and corn meal; stir and simmer 15 minutes.
Be careful not to burn.
Add chili seasoning, depending upon desired hotness.
Cover with grated Cheddar cheese and pop into 350\u00b0 oven until cheese melts.
Serve with green salad and French bread. Serves 6.
