Old-Timey Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    large cucumbers
    salt
    sugar
    vinegar
Preparation
    Wash and cut large cucumbers.
    Pack into clean jars.
    Add to each quart jar 1 teaspoon salt and 3 tablespoons sugar.
    Fill each jar 1/3 full of vinegar.
    Finish filling jar with water; shake to dissolve salt and sugar.
    After sealing, put into hot water bath for 10 minutes after water starts to boil, then remove at once. Check to see that jars are sealed.
