Butterscotch Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    2 1/2 c. milk
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 slices bread
Preparation
    Cook sugar and butter together until brown.
    Heat 2 cups of milk and add to sugar.
    Remove from heat; let stand for about 5 minutes.
    Soak bread in remaining 1/2 cup of milk in a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
    Beat the 2 eggs; mix with the sugar mixture.
    Mix in the vanilla and pour over the bread.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Serve hot or cold with whipped cream.
