Sweet Pickled Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. large string beans
    3 c. sugar
    3 c. vinegar
    4 cloves garlic
    1 tsp. dried red pepper
Preparation
    Cook large green or yellow string beans in salted water until tender.
    Put
    in sterile jars. Cover with equal parts of sugar and vinegar
    that
    have been brought to a boil.
    Add one clove of garlic
    that
    has
    been slit and a pinch of dried red pepper to each
    jar.\tSeal
    in jars.\tReady to use in 10 days. Yield: 4 pints.
