Party Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    13 oz. pkg. lime gelatin
    14 1/2 oz. can crushed pineapple
    1/2 c. cottage cheese
    1/2 c. Cool Whip
    1/4 c. chopped maraschino cherries
    1/4 c. chopped, blanched almonds
Preparation
    Dissolve gelatin in 1 cup boiling water.
    Drain pineapple, reserving 1/2 cup syrup.
    Add to gelatin mixture; mix well.
    Chill until thickened.
    Fold in cottage cheese, Cool Whip, pineapple, cherries and almonds.
    Pour into 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan or individual molds.
    Chill until firm.
    Unmold.
    Serve on lettuce leaf with mayonnaise and shredded cheese, if desired.
