Marjorie'S Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
3 Tbsp. cocoa
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 Tbsp. hot water

Preparation

Sift together the flour, salt, sugar and cocoa. Cream together the shortening, buttermilk and eggs.
Add flour mixture.
Mix soda and baking powder in water. Add this and vanilla to batter. Bake in 3 layers at 350\u00b0 until done.
