Fruit Cocktail Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    2 1/4 c. cake flour
    3/4 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3 eggs
    1/2 c. butter or margarine (additional for pan)
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 c. fruit cocktail, drained
    maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Sift flour and measure.
    Add salt, baking powder and sift again.
    Cream butter or margarine.
    Add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, then flour alternately with milk.
    Add vanilla.
    Then melt 1/2 cup butter or margarine in pan or baking dish.
    Add brown sugar and smooth over sides and bottom of pan.
