Poppy Seed Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening or 1/2 c. shortening and 1 stick margarine
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 c. milk
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    2 c. freshly ground poppy seed
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar together.
    Beat in eggs until smooth.
    Add milk, baking powder, salt and vanilla and beat in. Add flour a little at a time beating until smooth.
    Then add poppy seed, mixing thoroughly.
    Pour into greased and floured tube cake pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about one hour.
