Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 gal. cucumbers
    5 qt. water
    4 c. household hydrated lime
    16 c. sugar
    1 tsp. whole cloves
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 Tbsp. salt
    3/4 stick cinnamon, broken up
    2 c. water
    16 c. vinegar
    5 to 8 drops green coloring
Preparation
    Prepare lime solution with the 5 quarts water and the hydrated lime.
    Wash cucumbers thoroughly and slice.
    Soak cucumbers in lime solution for 24 hours.
    Wash cucumbers in several waters to remove lime.
