Funnel Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    3/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift together the first 5 ingredients in a large bowl.
    Add the egg and milk; mix well and beat until smooth.
    Hold finger over bottom of funnel.
    Pour in 1/3 cup batter.
    Remove finger and let batter drop in a spiral motion in hot oil.
    Fry until golden brown on both sides.
    Remove; drain on paper towel.
    Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve warm.
    Yields 3 large cakes.
