Venison Or Beef Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    lean venison or beef roast (also good with stew meat with potatoes and carrots)
    1 large yellow onion, sliced thin
    3 to 6 cloves garlic, minced
    2 to 4 bay leaves
    1/2 c. good red wine
    1 c. sliced mushrooms, sauteed
    1/4 c. catsup
    1 can chicken broth
    potatoes and carrots (optional)
Preparation
    Salt and pepper roast and brown well.
    Add all ingredients and roast in oven at 325\u00b0 for approximately 2 1/2 hours or until done. For best results, use a cooking bag.
    Leftover juices make an excellent gravy.
