Chow-Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. green tomatoes, chopped
    1 qt. onion, chopped
    1 small cabbage, chopped
    1 qt. green bell pepper, chopped
    1 qt. vinegar
    4 c. sugar
    2 1/2 Tbsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
    2 Tbsp. pickling spices, tied up in cheesecloth
Preparation
    Mix first four vegetables.
    Sprinkle 2 tablespoons salt over and let stand 2 to 3 hours.
    Mix well again.
    Squeeze out vegetables (by hand).
