Old Fashioned Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    3 c. cake flour
    3 sticks butter or margarine
    6 eggs
    dash of salt
    1 tsp. flavoring
    1 can Carnation evaporated milk
Preparation
    Allow butter or margarine to soften at room temperature. Combine sugar, butter and eggs in a large mixing bowl.
    Beat until mixture is smooth and creamy.
    Alternate, adding small amounts of the cake flour and the milk and beat after each addition.
    Add a dash of salt and the flavoring.
    Continue beating the mixture until it is smooth and creamy.
    The mixture will look like softened ice cream.
    (Do not overmix.)
    Cook in a tube pan at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
    Allow to cool for 15 minutes before removing from the pan.
