Corn Dog Bites - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 large beaten egg
    1 (16 oz.) pkg. frankfurters
    mustard and ketchup (optional)
    2/3 c. corn meal (self-rising)
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Combine first 3 ingredients in large bowl.
    Combine oil, egg and buttermilk.
    Stir in flour mixture.
    Cut frankfurters into 5 pieces.
    Dip each piece into batter.
    Coat completely.
    Use wooden picks to aid in dipping.
    Pour oil 3 to 4-inches deep in Dutch oven or pan.
    Heat to 375\u00b0.
    Fry until golden brown.
    Turn once while frying.
    Serve with mustard and ketchup.
