Applesauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 large cooking apples
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. lemon juice
Preparation

Core apples and slice into quarters.
Place in a saucepan with water.
Cook slowly until apples are tender, about 20 minutes. Put apples through a food mill and discard skins (if mill is not available, peel apples before cooking and after cooking, mash them).
Add cinnamon and lemon juice.
If desired, add sugar, but it is not necessary.
