My Mother'S Applesauce Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. applesauce
1 egg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. nuts

Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add applesauce and beaten egg. Mix and sift dry ingredients.
Add nuts and combine the 2 mixtures.
Bake in loaf pans 45 to 60 minutes at 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0.
