Family-Styled Short Ribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. beef short ribs
    2 Tbsp. salad oil
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 1/2 c. water
    2 bouillon cubes or 2 tsp. powdered
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    2 medium onions, cut in 1/4-inch slices
Preparation
    Brown short ribs on all sides in oil.
    Pour off drippings. Season with salt and pepper.
    Add water, bouillon, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and the onion slices.
    Cover tightly and cook slowly for 2 hours or until meat is fork-tender.
    Pour out cooking liquid to measure 1 1/2 cups.
    Use water if needed.
    Thicken the liquid for gravy.
    Serve with mashed potatoes.
