Lemon Pecan Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. oleo
    3 c. sugar
    6 eggs
    4 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 lb. dates, chopped
    1/2 lb. candied cherries
    1/2 lb. candied pineapple
    1 1/2 oz. pure lemon flavoring
    4 c. pecans, chopped
Preparation
    Cream oleo
    and
    sugar, add 1 egg at a time.
    Add 3 cups flour, flavoring and pecans.
    Add 1 cup flour to chopped fruit, then add to mixture.
    Makes two cakes, baked in angel food cake pans.
    Bake
    at 250\u00b0 until done.
    After 1 hour put pan of water under cake.
