Barbecued Spareribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 to 3 lb. ribs
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. paprika
    1/4 tsp. chili powder
    1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
    1 small onion
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Trim any excess fat from ribs.
    Place in large, shallow baking pan so that ribs are in a single layer.
    Measure seasonings and spices and mix together.
    Sprinkle generously over ribs on both sides.
    Slice onion over top and pour tomato sauce over all.
    Add water and sprinkle sugar over sauce.
    Bake in moderate oven (325\u00b0) for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until very tender.
    Baste often and turn ribs several times during cooking.
    Add more water if necessary, but sauce should be thick enough to cling to meat when done.
