Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 pinch salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 tsp. butter
    2 1/3 c. pecans (pieces are better)
    2/3 c. pecan halves
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, mix sugar, soda, salt and buttermilk. Cook on medium heat until boils.
    Cook for 5 minutes after starting to boil.
    Add butter and pecan pieces; cook until soft ball forms.
    Mixture will be a dark brown color.
    Let stand for 1 to 2 minutes.
    Add pecan halves; beat until creamy and thick. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper.
