Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
olive oil
1 green pepper, chopped
1 large can tomato puree
1 tsp. sugar
1 can sliced water chestnuts
1 tsp. basil
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Saute onion and garlic in small amount of olive oil.
Add green pepper, puree and sugar and simmer about 30 minutes.
Add can of sliced water chestnuts, including the juice, and simmer a little longer.
Season with salt, pepper and the chopped basil.
