Scotch Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour, sifted
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 sticks margarine
    4 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. water
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Measure sifted flour and sift together with sugar.
    Set aside. Stir baking soda into buttermilk in cup and set aside.
    In a 2-quart saucepan, melt the margarine and stir in cocoa and water. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil and remove from stove.
    Add sugar/flour mixture gradually with spoon.
    (You will not need electric mixer.)
    Stir in buttermilk mixture and then add eggs and vanilla, beating well.
    Turn into greased 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
    While cake is baking, prepare frosting.
