Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1 1/2 c. self-rising corn meal
3/4 c. plain flour
3/4 c. buttermilk
1 small onion, chopped
1 egg, beaten

Preparation

Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Mix meal and flour in bowl. Add buttermilk and mix thoroughly.
Add beaten egg, onion and yeast mixture.
Mix good and drop by teaspoon into hot fat.
Cook until golden brown.
Serve hot with fish and French fries.
