Chicken With Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 chicken, cut up
    flour
    salt and pepper
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg, beaten
    1/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Cook chicken in boiling, salted water until tender.
    Remove chicken, saving 4 cups broth.
    Debone chicken; set aside.
    Skim broth, saving 6 tablespoons chicken fat.
    Combine 6 tablespoons flour with fat in bowl; blend well.
    Add a small amount of reserved broth, stirring until smooth.
    Stir flour into 4 cups of broth in saucepan.
    Cook over low heat until slightly thickened, stirring constantly.
    Season with salt and pepper.
