Sauerbraten - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 medium onions, sliced
1/2 lemon, sliced
1 c. red wine vinegar
1 1/2 c. water
12 whole cloves
6 bay leaves
6 whole black peppercorns
1 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. ginger
4 lb. beef roast
2 Tbsp. fat
1/4 c. water
1/3 c. gingersnaps
Preparation
-
Combine all but last three ingredients for marinade.
Add meat.
Cover and refrigerate for about 36 hours.
Turn meat two times daily.
