Grandmama'S Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter
    2 3/4 c. light brown sugar
    12 eggs
    1/2 c. orange juice
    1/2 c. grape juice
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. jelly
    6 c. plain flour
1 lb. container mixed fruit (cake fruit)
    2 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. nutmeg
    2 tsp. cloves
    2 c. raisins
    2 c. dates, chopped
    1/2 c. lemon peel
    1/2 c. orange peel
    2 c. cherries (1 lb.), chopped
    2 c. pineapple (crystallized), chopped
    1 lb. pecans
Preparation
Mix butter, eggs, sugar, juices, buttermilk (with the soda in it) and jelly, then add 4 cups flour and put the other 2 cups over the fruit; coat it real well.
Then add all the spices and the butter and egg mixture to the fruit, then add the pecans.
Mix well and bake at 250\u00b0 for 3 1/2 hours, if using a steeple pan, or less time for loaf pans.
Line bottom of the pans with paper from grocery bags (cut to fit), grease this real good and dust with flour.
Test cakes to be sure if they have cooked long enough.
