Pfeffernuessen (Peppernuts) Von Heinrichs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    2 c. white sugar
    1 c. shortening
    3 eggs
    2 c. sweet cream
    3 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. pecan pieces
    flour (approximately 9 to 10 c.)
Preparation
    Cream the shortening, sugars and eggs.
    Combine baking soda with the cream and add to first mixture.
    Add vanilla, nuts, spices (mix spices with a portion of the flour) and flour (enough to make stiff dough.
    Chill.
