Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. molasses
    1 beaten egg
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 tsp. ginger
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Pour boiling water over shortening. Add sugar, molasses and egg, then beat well.
    Add sifted dry ingredients and beat until smooth.
    Pour in ungreased 8 x 8-inch pan and bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350\u00b0.
