Okra Seafood Gumbo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 hard shell crabs
    2 lb. okra
    4 Tbsp. bacon fat
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. onion, chopped
    1/2 c. green onion, chopped
    1 clove garlic, finely chopped
    1 green pepper, chopped
    1 c. cooked ham, diced
    1 (11 oz.) can tomatoes
    2 lb. raw shrimp
    6 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    pinch of pepper
    5 dashes Tabasco sauce
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. thyme
Preparation
    Boil crabs until they turn red (about 20 minutes). Set aside and reserve water.
    Wash okra and cut into 1/4-inch rounds.
    Put 2 tablespoons of bacon fat in an iron skillet and fry okra, stirring often, to prevent burning, until it is browned and dried out, with all trace of sliminess gone.
