Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. self-rising corn meal
1 Tbsp. sugar
black pepper to taste
1 medium onion, chopped
1 egg, well beaten
milk

Preparation

Mix all ingredients except milk.
Add enough milk to form balls.
Drop from teaspoon into hot fat.
Cook until well browned and cooked through.
Serve hot.
