Honey Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. boiling coffee
    2 Tbsp. chopped nuts (if desired)
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    3 eggs
    1 c. honey
    2 Tbsp. oil or melted shortening
Preparation
    Sift flour.
    Measure and sift with baking powder, baking soda, spices and salt.
    Beat eggs until thick and light, about 5 minutes.
    Add sugar gradually, beating well. Add honey, coffee and shortening.
    Blend well.
    Add dry ingredients.
    Beat until well blended.
    Sprinkle nuts on bottom of greased and waxed paper lined 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake in moderate oven (375\u00b0) for 35 to 40 minutes or until done.
    Let stand in pan 5 minutes, then turn out on rack.
    Cut into squares.
    Yield: 24 servings.
