Easy Skillet Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 (3 lb.) chicken, cut up
    oil
    butter
Preparation
    Beat egg and milk together.
    Mix flour, salt and pepper.
    Dip chicken into egg mixture; roll in flour mixture.
    Brown chicken well, in a mixture of oil and butter, in a heavy skillet.
    Pour off skillet drippings.
    Return chicken to skillet.
    Add 1/2 cup boiling water.
    Cover.
    Cook over low heat for 45 minutes or until chicken is tender.
