Turtle Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 box German chocolate cake mix
1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
3/4 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chocolate chips
chocolate frosting (optional)
Preparation

In saucepan, over low heat, melt caramels with butter and milk.
Mix cake according to directions.
Pour half of batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
Remove from oven; top with chocolate chips and pecans. Pour caramel mixture over the first layer after baking it.
Pour second half of cake batter over top.
Bake 20 minutes more.
May frost, if desired.
May be prepared a couple of days in advance.
