Johnnycake(Northern Corn Bread) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    4 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. cornmeal
    2 eggs
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. cooking oil or melted shortening
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients; mix (be careful not to overbeat) until well blended.
    When batter is smooth, pour into greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Can be served warm.
