Ingredients

2/3 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. sifted self-rising flour
1 1/3 c. milk
Preparation

Grease and flour 2 (9-inch) pans.
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, one at a time.
Cream thoroughly.
Add vanilla. Alternately add flour in 3 portions with milk in 2 portions; pour in pans.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Allow to cool 10 minutes before removing from pans.
