Blackberry Jam - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. crushed blackberries
    4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Wash berries and place in kettle with sugar.
    Boil rapidly, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
    Remove from heat and skim the top.
    Stir and skim alternately for 5 minutes.
    Pour into hot jars and use hot lids.
    Hot water bath for 5 minutes.
    Makes 4 to 5 half pint jars.
