Ingredients

1 Tbsp. butter
1 medium onion, coarsely chopped
1 can sauerkraut (don't drain)
1/2 c. water
2 Tbsp. dark brown sugar
1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
caraway seed as desired
Preparation

Saute onion in butter until golden; add other ingredients. Cover and simmer gently until most of liquid is gone.
This is excellent with Hillshire Farm Polish sausage, wieners or to use in Reuben sandwiches.
