Joanie'S Shrimp Scampi - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. shrimp, peeled, deveined and butterflied
    lemon
    1 lb. butter or margarine
    1 lb. fresh sliced mushrooms
    2 bunches green onions or scallions
    4 to 5 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 to 1 tsp. sugar (depending on taste)
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp. dried parsley or 2 tsp. fresh parsley
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Melt butter or margarine in skillet on medium heat.
    Saute all ingredients, except shrimp, in butter for 10 to 15 minutes or until cooked and tender on low-medium heat.
    Remove from heat and set aside.
    Sprinkle lemon on shrimp.
    Arrange shrimp, side by side, in large baking dish (make sure dish is broilerproof).
    Pour butter, mushroom and onion mixture over shrimp and broil, turning occasionally, for 8 to 12 minutes or until shrimp are pink and cooked through.
    Remove from broiler and serve over hot rice or noodles.
