Vegetable Beef Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef shanks or veal bones
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes
    2 carrots, sliced
    2 to 3 stalks celery, sliced
    1 or 2 medium potatoes, pared and diced
    2 or 3 c. water
    3 to 4 whole peppercorns
    2 to 3 beef bouillon cubes
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables, peas or lima beans
Preparation
    Put all ingredients in crock-pot.
    Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
