Fruit Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 1/3 c. light brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. plain flour
    1/2 lb. candied cherries
    1/2 lb. candied pineapple
    1/2 c. chopped dates
    2 c. broken pecan pieces
Preparation
    Cream the first three ingredients together until smooth.
    Add the next two ingredients into mixture.
    Stir well.
    Grease and flour an oblong cake pan.
    Place 2 cups broken pecan pieces on bottom.
    Wet hands and smooth cream mixture over the nuts.
    Combine in bowl the candied fruit pieces.
    Sprinkle fruits over batter and press evenly into batter.
    Cook 1 hour at 300\u00b0.
    Cut while still warm into squares.
    Re-cut and remove when cool.
