Pickled Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. thinly sliced squash
    2 c. onions, sliced
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 c. vinegar
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1/2 tsp. mustard seed
    1/2 c. diced green peppers
Preparation
    Put squash and onions in bowl. Sprinkle with salt and let stand for 1 hour. Combine sugar, celery seed, mustard seed and vinegar. Bring to a boil. Add squash and onions. Bring to a good simmer. Put in hot sterilized jars and seal.
