Lou'S Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. margarine
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. quick cooking oats
    powdered sugar
    whole pecans
Preparation
    Sift flour, salt, baking powder and soda together 3 times. Cream brown sugar and shortening.
    Add beaten eggs and vanilla; beat well.
    Stir in sifted dry ingredients and rolled oats.
    Form balls the size of walnuts; roll in powdered sugar until heavily coated.
    Put whole pecan in center of each ball; press balls down on cookie sheet with a glass.
    Bake in moderate oven, 375\u00b0, for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
    Should still be soft when removed from oven.
