14-Day Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. salt
    alum
    6 c. sugar
    5 pt. vinegar
    1 oz. celery seed
    1/4 oz. stick cinnamon
    1/2 oz. whole cloves
Preparation
    Fill
    churn
    or
    other glass or crockery container with whole cucumbers.\tCover
    with 2 cups salt to a gallon of cold water. Set one week.
