Chocolate Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. oatmeal
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cocoa
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix oats and water.
    Sift dry ingredients; set aside.
    Cream shortening; add sugar and one egg at a time.
    Beat well.
    Add vanilla, then add alternately the dry ingredients and oat mixture. Pour into a greased 8 x 11 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
