Jam Cake(Very Old Recipe) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    3 c. flour
    2 1/2 c. blackberry jam
    1 tsp. cloves
    4 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs and blackberry jam.
    Beat thoroughly.
    Sift flour; measure and resift with soda, salt and spices.
    Add alternately with milk to the first mixture.
    Beat well and pour into well-greased tube pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 55 minutes.
