Chicken Vegetable Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cooked chicken or turkey
    2 cans cream of mushroom soup
    1 (8 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
    1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms, drained
    1 (16 oz.) pkg. frozen California Blend vegetables
    4 oz. Cheddar cheese (approximately 1 c.), shredded
    1 Tbsp. chopped onion (I use more like 1 chopped onion)
    1/4 to 1/2 c. slivered almonds or croutons
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients, except the almonds (or croutons) into a 3-quart baking casserole dish.
    Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Remove to cover; stir.
    Sprinkle with almonds (or croutons) and bake 15 to 20 minutes more, until bubbly.
    Serves 6 to 8.
